« Heritage Days » and « Steam Days » are for us an opportunity to let general public discover a world disappeared from the « old railways » with steam engines in action. This year, « Heritage Days » at Longueville roundhouse fall on Saturday, 17th and Sunday, September 18th, and our roundhouse will be 100 years old !
And our locomotive « NORD 3.628 – SNCF 230 D 116″, recently arrived at Longueville repatriated from Great Britain after 38 years, will be 100 years old too !
For our roundhouse 100th anniversary, we organize a special train from Toulouse to Longueville, via Paris. Five steam engines will be used to haul this train, made up of vintage cars. After this train, the five steam engines will be on display in our roundhouse during two “September Steam Days”, 17th and 18th September 2011.
All these locomotives will gather at Longueville roundhouse with our steam locomotives 141 TB 407 and 020T « Suzanne ». Another guest will be the steam engine 020+020T, a « Mallet » coming from Alsace (Thur Doller touristic train).
During two days, we will propose you special steam trains around Longueville, two special steam trains from Paris to longueville, and activities as a « run with the engine driver », a lunch in the « Blue Train » dining-car and in the « Côte d’Azur » Pullman-car, a presentation of historical and SNCF engines, guided tours with our volunteer guides, a railroad secondhand market, railroad model making exhibitions…
The program of these two days will be completed as soon as the information is known. Some activities take place a single day only . Following is a non exhaustive list of the proposed activities :
Steam trains from Paris (Gare de l’Est) to Longueville :
To reach this unprecedented gathering of steam locomotives, two special trains will run to Paris-Gare de l’Est to Longueville, saturday, 17th and sunday 18th. Departure in the morning, and return at about 10 pm. To know more about those trains, please follow the link or click on the picture :

For this train : Paris (Gare de l’Est) – Longueville and return in 2nd class : tickets on sale at AJECTA’s desk, but booking is highly recommanded, in particular for 1st class, diner in the dining-car or Pullmann class.

The success of the meals in our ” Blue Train ” dining-car was for us incentive to propose them again this year, saturday and sunday. This year, meals are also available in our 1929 » Côte d’Azur » Pullman-car !

Take an old steam train from Longueville to Provins or Romilly !
Saturday, 17th, and Sunday, 18th, shuttles with old steam trains from 1930′s or with an old railcar are organized, from Longueville to Provins and from Longueville to Romilly.

Guided tours with our volunteer guides :
Visit the roundhouse with one of our volunteer guide : You will discover the history of the shed, the story of locomotives and the life of the men who drove them. Our volunteer guides are often themselves drivers or firemen, and can thus testify of their passion for the world of steam trains.

Access to Longueville :
Longueville is located in Seine-et-Marne, a few kilometers away from Provins and approximately 90 km southeast from Paris. You can reach Longueville by train from « Paris-Est » station or by car. Train timetables and access maps are available following this link: « Getting here »
The direct access to the roundhouse by the SNCF road from the Longueville station is strictly forbidden. The entrance to « Heritage Days » is made by Louis Platriez street. A free road shuttle will connect « Longueville SNCF Station » with our roundhouse.
